OMAR

Born in the desert in Morocco, he lived there with his family, goats and dromedaries until he was 22 years old. In 2005 the family decided to give up their nomadic life due to the increasing drought and, like many other nomads, to settle in the village of Mhamid. After a difficult transition period, Omar began accompanying tourists into the desert. 15 years of experience as a chamelier (camel guide), cook and guide, then finally my own dromedaries. His close ties to the Sahara and to simple life have remained. He would like to give insights into the traditions of nomadic life: e.g. bake sand bread or sing old traditional songs of the Sahara. He knows the peculiarities and ways of the desert. Communication is possible in Arabic, French and some English.
