from M´Hamid

Music festivals in spring and autumn Atlantic hike at Essaouira in summer

Getting there:  The journey from Marrakech through the impressive high Atlas via the Tizi´nTichka Pass to the Sahara is always a pleasure for me.

The impressive mountains, sometimes snow-covered, the varied landscapes in various structures and colors, in between original Berber villages to the green of the palm trees in the Draatal in contrast to the reddish kasbahs - an experience. We recommend a slow approach with one or more overnight stays. If you have less time, a direct arrival is also possible. The journey from Marrakech airport to M'Hamid takes around 8 hours without interruptions. Approach to Marrakech. Distance from Marrakech to M´Hamid: 450 km

There is a lot to see along the way, if you wish we can organize an overnight stay for you on the return journey in cozy, authentic quarters on the route (eg in Agdz or Ouarzarzate). So you can slowly approach the desert and consciously experience the changing landscapes and maybe take a walk through the palm groves. Highlights on the route are: Ait Ben-Haddou, the ceramic workshops in Tamegroute, film studios in Ouarzarzate.

Independent travel by public bus from Marrakech to M´Hamid (CTM) is also possible and takes time about 11 hours. Another option is to take shared taxis (Grand Taxis) on several stages.

If you don't want to fly: Arrival via Spain / Tangier.
